2. 2Sun Oct 181948: War of IndependenceA legally grounded people declares a state and defends it against invasion — the partition Israel accepted, the war the Arab states chose, and the historical record that answers how 1948 is argued about today.
3. 3Sun Oct 251967: The Six-Day WarThe war that restored Jewish sovereignty over the highland heart of the land and redrew Israel's strategic map — taught through the terrain, because on this ground the geography is the security.
4. 4Sun Nov 1Oslo & the Failure of PeaceThe peace process as the course's central case study: a paper architecture that mistook a signed framework for a solved problem, and broke on contact with the reality it tried to manage.
5. 5Sun Nov 8The Second IntifadaCafés, buses, a Passover seder — civilians targeted and the murder staged for the cameras. The Second Intifada told straight, against the 'cycle of violence' story that laundered it into symmetry.
