Perimeter is Mitzpe’s quarterly brief on the diaspora threat environment. Each edition assesses the threat picture facing Jewish communities in North America and Western Europe, identifies the risks taking shape, and delivers operational recommendations for the people responsible for organizational security.
What Perimeter assumes
Jewish diaspora life faces genuine risk over the next twenty to thirty years. That is the operating premise behind every Perimeter assessment — a planning assumption that drives the analysis, held without alarm. The threats that produced October 7 did not originate in Gaza, and they do not terminate at Israel’s borders. They travel through ideology, targeting logic, and organizational infrastructure that reach directly into North America and Western Europe. “Globalize the intifada” moved from chant to strategy. Jewish community infrastructure sits on the list of soft targets that strategy draws from, and the institutional response has not kept pace with the threat.
Perimeter treats diaspora communities as what they are: objects of attention from hostile actors, part of a larger strategic picture, and worth protecting with the same analytical discipline Mitzpe brings to Israeli security. Federation executives and synagogue security chairs have no use for alarmism. They need to know what has changed, what is coming, and what a serious institutional response looks like. Mitzpe’s protective work runs on analysis. That discipline is what the contracted relationship earns.
